DENTAL SURGERY

Dr. Jimmy Butt grew up in Lucan, Dublin and graduated from Trinity College magna cum laude with a first class degree in restorative dentistry . He immediately began his professional career by being accepted onto the coveted Dublin Dental House Officer post. Here he gained valuable experience across all facets of dentistry. From oral surgery to paedodontics, endodontics and prosthodontics.

A passion for oral maxillofacial surgery culminated in a transition to St Richards Hospital Chichester UK. Dr. Butt worked as a full time hospital doctor managing facial skin cancers and oral surgery lists including wisdom teeth, facial fractures, and more. Whilst in Chichester he sat the Royal College Surgeons Ireland membership exams, acquiring the BA B Dent Sc(Hons) DIP PCD RCSI, MFD RCSI, MGDS RCSI.

In order to gain exposure to complex oral cancer reconstructions Dr Butt moved to Wales and to the Cardiff University Hospital, a national trauma and referral centre. Here he acquired experience in soft tissue biopsies, bone grafts, and dental implant surgery as well as management of facial fractures.

Dr. Butt then studied medicine in Trinity College Dublin graduating as a doctor and is the only dual qualified full arch implant surgeon trained in both medicine and dentistry allowing him to treat the most complex cases.

His belief is that all patients deserve to have optimal oral health in a calm, painless, and judgement free environment. He aims to provide this quality care using the most modern and evidence based techniques.

DENTAL SURGEON

Beginning his journey as an entrance exhibition scholar, Dr. Ahsan graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an Honours degree in Dental Science. Immediately following his qualification, Dr. Ahsan pursued further training and education, ultimately becoming one of the only dentists to attain a membership with the Royal College of Surgeons in the same year.

With a passion for providing exceptional patient care, Dr. Ahsan has gained extensive knowledge in all aspects of dentistry through working in various dental practices in Ireland. His commitment to excellence in dentistry led him to pursue further training in the UK, where he gained invaluable experience in emergency dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Working alongside imminent figures and treating patients with extensive facial injuries, facial fractures and jaw deformities, Dr. Ahsan has gained unique surgical skills which make him an asset to our service provision.

Dr. Ahsan has furthered his surgical training by attaining multiple qualifications in dental implantology from the UK, Spain, Portugal, Brazil and the USA. The scope of his work, therefore largely revolves around complex dental implant cases and surgical removal of teeth. He has a keen interest in soft tissue grafting around dental implants and specialises in providing solutions for patients that have aesthetic complications. Dr. Ahsan has a passion for teaching and holds a clinical supervisor post for undergraduate students in the Dublin Dental Hospital.

He is committed to helping his patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health, and is always happy to answer any questions they may have about their treatment options.

GENERAL DENTIST

Dr. Duffy graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2020, with an Honours degree in Dental Science.

With over four years of experience as a general practitioner in practices across Ireland and Australia, Katie brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our dental team.

Katie’s primary focus is on general dentistry, including paediatric dental care and disease prevention. She is dedicated to helping patients achieve and maintain a healthy smile, with her main goal being to educate patients on oral health, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to do so. She is also committed to creating a calm and reassuring environment for nervous patients, helping them feel comfortable throughout their treatment.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys racquetball, cooking, and surfing. She is excited to be part of our team and looks forward to making a positive impact on her patients' oral health.

SPECIALIST ENDODONTIST

Dr Zara is a highly skilled and experienced dentist, originally from Ukraine. Graduating from Kharkiv National Medical University in 2010, Dr Zara embarked on a distinguished career in dentistry, accumulating over a decade of expertise in various dental disciplines.

Following graduation, Dr Zara pursued postgraduate training at Kharkiv Medical Academy of Post-graduate Education, specializing in Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry, culminating in a Master's degree. This academic foundation laid the groundwork for a successful career dedicated to dental excellence.

Dr Zara began practicing as a General Dentist at the esteemed "Creative Search" clinic in Kharkiv, Ukraine, where they honed their skills from 2011 to 2013. Subsequently, they transitioned to the "New Dentistry" clinic in Kharkiv, further expanding their expertise until 2019. Demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement, Dr Zara then assumed the role of Specialist-Endodontist and Pediatric Dentist at Amel Dental Clinic in Dnepr, Ukraine, where they also served as the lead of the therapeutic department from 2021 to 2022.

In April 2022, Dr. Zara embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Ireland. After obtaining confirmation of their dental license from the Irish Dental Council, they joined Abbey Glebe Dental Practice in Donegal town as a registered dentist. Since then, Dr Zara has been providing exceptional dental care to the community, bringing their wealth of experience and passion for dentistry to their patients in Ireland.

Dr. Zara possesses a particular interest in root canal treatment, aesthetic restorations, composite bonding, prosthetic dentistry, and various types of extractions. Their dedication to staying abreast of the latest advancements in dentistry ensures that patients receive the highest standard of care.

Outside of dentistry, Dr Zara is an avid traveller who enjoys exploring new destinations, hiking, and indulging in diverse cuisines. They also lead an active lifestyle, frequently visiting the gym, riding their motorbike, and embracing the joys of life.

SPECIALIST PROSTHODONTIST

Dr. Kim is a highly skilled dentist who graduated from the University of Pecs, Hungary in 2015. He has since expanded his expertise to include advanced dentistry techniques such as veneers, crowns, bridges, and fully became a digital dentist.

Dr. Kim completed his master's degree in Prosthodontics from the University of Siena, Italy. Additionally he has expanded his skills to Implantology by completing various training courses in Hungary, Germany, and South Korea.

In spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid sports lover.

Eimear Mithen is our highly skilled and accomplished dental hygienist who has been part of the Slievemore Dental team for many years. Eimear qualified from Trinity College Dublin and was awarded the Gold Medal Award for achieving first place in College.

Throughout her career, Eimear has actively contributed to the advancement of dental hygiene practices. She has been involved with the Irish, European and International Federations of Dental Hygiene, holding multiple honorary positions such as Secretary, Journal Editor and Employment Officer.

Her commitment to her patients and the profession has earned her respect from both her peers and patients and in recent years Eimear has been a finalist in the Dental Hygienist of the Year Awards.

Eimear enjoys staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in Dental Hygiene, attending professional conferences and engaging in continuing education courses.
